This has worked fine on other machines that i have installed SQL Server 2000 developer edition on. However, now i seem to be getting problems, and i have no idea what is causing them.
I have been on countless forums etc trying to find an answer....but have had no luck.
Anyway, SQL server seems to be installing fine. Its when the machine is restarted that the probelms start. All looks to be going well, but suddenly the screen goes blue and i get the virtual memory dump info. After which, i have to restart in safemode and un-install SQL server.
Has anyone any ideas what could be causing this?
ALL help appreciated.
Windows seems to fully load. It seems to be when all the apllications are kicking in that it crashes. i.e. all the programs that are set to load on start up. I think this is what it is, but i also tried the software on another machine just to check, and it did the same thing, which is strange, as that machine has a higher/better spec than my own laptop.....which has sql server running on it fine.
My other thought was that perhaps there is a mechanism of sorts on the SQL CD that only allows it to be installed a couple of times, to stop piracy etc. I have installed and deleted it a couple of times trying different things to get it to work.
Could this be a problem? Is there a restriction that anyone knows of?
