Trouble with ASP/IIS/PWS on W98SE

Won't install!

Even though the Windows Setup says that Personal Web Server is installed, it didn't make the folder Inetpub or wwwroot, which I've been told I have to have to run ASP. Does anyone know what I should do? Any comments would be most appriciated!

PWS is an add-on of Win98
Did you install PWS after the O/S was installed and then installed PWS from the CD?
When correctly installed it should make the Inetpub directory in the root directory (wwwroot is a sub-directory of inetpub) and in the Windows/System directory make a sub-directory inetsrv with it's sub-directories.
Also a Personal Web Server icon is installed in the Taskbar.

Have you checked if any of these directories has been installed on your PC

I typed in D:\\add-ons\pws\setup.exe, but it didn't do anything. Today I tried installing it from Microsoft, but I haven't worked out the kinks yet. There IS an Inetpub folder now, but the subfolder inside is titled webpub. I searched for inetsrv, but could not find it.
I have restarted the computer, but there isn't an icon on the taskbar.

When properly installed the Inetpub folder should contain the following sub-folders :
iissamples, Originals, scripts, webpub, wwwroot and their sub-folders.

You might try the following :
reboot your computer,
put windows disk in drive
open windows explorer
go to the [D:] or whatever letter is your CD drive
look through the folders on the disk until you find add-on/ PWS/ and double click on setup.exe

it should be a straightforward install
