Site search on ASP hosting

I'm thinking about trying to impelement a site search facility on a corporate website.

A fairly simple text string matching system would probably be good enough, so is it worth trying to write my own (which I would quite like to try) or is there already a decent and cheap eninge out there?

If I do attempt an inhouse job, what are the major points that i need to investigate/research?
