I am running IIS 5.0 on a win 2k server. I have a valid certificate installed and have port 443 enabled. If I try to serve the pages via HTTPS they serve out but are not secure, if I check in the log they are serving on port 80 not 443

Are you sure you used the https:// link type, instead of the standard http://?

I seem to remember having major problems with my last certificate install...

The problem in my case turned out to be that I had not assigned a specific IP address to the site (I had left it as "all unassigned" ) couldn't be that could it? Plus have you tried accessing the site directly via the port (with https) - it might give you a clue as to what's going on.

I do have all unassigned. Did you use the machines internal IP or external IP?
