Using the secondary output on a user's machine

Toying with an idea...would like to know if anyone's done this before...

Hey guys,

Ok - I'm thinking of producing a fairly extravagant solution to a problem, but it's still in the 'drawing on the back of a beermat' stage.

I was wondering if there's any way that .NET can output to the client's secondary output, for example, if the user has a 2nd monitor set up, it displays something in there, but allowing the primary output to show something else. (Maybe using the extended desktop on Windows, or maybe not)

This is very vague I know, and I personally think it can't be done (because everything's gotta be contained within a browser, right?) but I was just wondering if anyone had heard any rumours, or seen anything, that suggests this can actually be done.

Cheers,

B

Are you looking to do this in a smart client/stand alone application environment or from a website?

I've got no preference really - whatever's easiest! All I need is somehow to use the secondary output - doesn't really matter how at this stage - I'll be able to work with anything!
