Go for it... I've still got 1 elective and 1 core to take.

You get 1 pencil, 1 test computer and 1 sheet of paper and 90 minutes baby!

As a resume reader, I look for qualifications. It shows the person has some drive.

carguy84, you'll love this one...

I conducted an interview recently because that resume indicated mcsd... come to find out; that person never even took an exam.

Its very easy to pass these now with braindumps etc. + you get an extra go for free now with most M$ exams.

If its going to help you get work then its worth the effort memorising a braindump :), but its very easy for a programmer to spot exam-MCAD's in an interview.

interesting ...

do you think the following line sounds terribly crazy: 'I gave up my PhD in Civil Engineering, because I had fallen in love with c#'?!

I don't have any certs but have been working for 10 years with MSFT technologies.

All the MCSD shows is someone can read a book. Good, flexible and stable coding is the real proof to a good programmer. I've interviewed dozens of anacronym laden lads over the years and a very few were able to answer relatively simple questions if they had been using the software (VB/.NET/C/etc.) for more than a year.

If you're looking for one because you think it looks good on a resume, it might not be worth it. If it's because you want to learn more about it, then it's great but expensive.
