I'm trying to open some aspx files, which is supposed to be possible with just any ascii editor. It's coming out a garbled mess in Notepad.

Are there any freebie editors for those files? I use Windows 98. Or could there be something wrong with the files themselves?

It sounds like the files themselves. Every part of a .net site (which uses aspx files) should be openable in notepad. The only exception is the use of DLL's.

I have Microsoft Visual Studio. If you want I'll try to open them. Stick me if you do.

Marcia,

I use VS.net but if you don't want to spend money you can download Microsoft free Webmatrix. It is free and powerfull tool.
