iis6 asp not displayed

i have a problem which is driving me nuts

iis6 wont display asp pages, html is fine

asp is enabled

i have added * into acceptable mime formats at the root level

asp is pointing to the correct dll

anyone experienced this problem before? and know how to fix it

Make sure antivirus on server isn't blocking script execution.
