I'm shopping for a copy of VS.net and am considering cutting corners by purchasing the Standard Edition vs. Proffesional. This will be used mostly for programming ASP.Net web applications.
Also, any real advantages of 2003 over 2002 for occaissional use?
Thanks!

I thought the standard versions were only available for individual languages? Vis Studio is Enterprise or Profesional version.
I have a feeling that Standard versions of VB/C++ has limitations on deploying COM and apps for handhelds.

Actually there are huge differences and bypassing the professional for the standard is just nonsense. And yes 2003 is definately the better product. But rather then buy a copy just join the Microsoft developers network and get your copy of the professional version plus tons of application upgrades and scripts and a huge community of other developers.
With the release of service pack 2 and .NET FrameWork 2 older versions of VS will be missing out on lots of new functionality.
My professional opinion: Join the developer network
