Checking IIS Read Permissions using ASP

We are looking at a way to display a message if read is set in IIS

We are looking at a way to display a message if READ is set in IIS on a certain folder (database).

Does anyone know of some ASP scripting that will allow us to display a security message if READ is set on a folder? For some reason our permissions have been playing up and we want to ensure that if they change we are notified of this.

Thanks for that link - that is now my new Bookmarked - GoTo reference! Lots of great information on that site. And it's all up to date.

I used to rely on w3schools, but now I'll switch. I guess I've outgrown the need for "how-tos" and rely more on a quick ready reference.
