Error while opening asp.net Web application

I am new to asp.net. i have installed .net 2003 in my system. i am using win2k. while opening a asp.net webapplication from Ms Visual Studio 2003 the following error showing. please help me.

The Web server reported the following eoor when attempting to create or opwn the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhost/WebApplication1'.'HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error'.

Hey.

Hard to tell what the error is. Have you tried running a very basic application (á la Hello World) on your server?

If that works, then there's probably something wrong with your code.
