Why won't my links open in a browser?

I can't open links within documents!

For some reason, I can't open links from any documents! Not from emails or MS Office docs. I just ran AdAware to see if some scumware was the cause, but that did not fix it, although it did remove a lot of crud.
What else may be causing this? I've scoured my Internet Options and my email client options. I'm using Outlook Express.
This is really bugging me! Thanks for any help.

Anyone ever have problems similar to this? It started a few months ago. I've put up with it till now, but its really starting to get on my nerves.

Have you tried re-installing Outlook and IE?

Possibly something else you installed a couple of months ago screwed up your outlook/IE settings.

Well, no, since the problem affects all Microsoft Office documents, i.e. - Word and Excel. If I get desperate though, I may just resort to reinstalling Outlook at the very least. But I think the problem is larger than that.
