Hi, my name is Nigel..

basically here is my problem....we have written a .asp that serves as a restaurant menu....you go online place your order then you should be able to go pick it up....

currently the .asp sends me an email...I need to convert that email to a fax via long distance somehow...

I cant seem to make the leap from the comp. to the fax machine.....

to clarify we cant use say efax or anything that involves a cost per page fee.....

There is one restaurant it is already designated for...its a chain, there are 20,000 of them,,,I have the names of every owner....And know a few of them. Hence no problem selling it.....

Here is what I am trying to do...I want to sell the .asp for say 150 bucks to each restaurant then charge them 10bucks a month to send out a report of what was sold online...easy enough

but as you see the growth is exponential...assume as little as 10 faxes per restaurant a day...it could get ugly quick........

so how do i send faxes in that fashion?third party delivery agent?

And how big a server will I need to handle say 1000 web pages...(actually I can sort that out myself)
Can someone help me?

The page was done about 6 months ago....but I cant sort out email to fax conversion...I am not even sure if thats what I need to do anymore....everytime I start researching the issue, I keep finding my messages posted all over the place....without an answer from anybody.....unless of course its just completely foolish.....

Thanks for the ear...
Nigel

Email programs like Microsoft Outlook have email-to-fax capabilities off the shelf. You put in the fax number in the To: field and the email is routed through the fax modem. They also have add-ons if you need more advanced features. Try a search on fax at slipstick.com

you can also consider a mail server with a fax gateway
component. exchange2K has one i think.
