DW MX drops site definitions

is there a limit to the number of sites?

About 6 months ago Dreamwever MX (Running on XP) decided it would drop about half of my 40 plus defined sites in the 'Files' window.

A bit annoying and over the months I just re-defined them as needed. Now it just did it again and cut the number down to 24 running alphabetically a - h

I can't see anywhere in the help files where is says there is a limit on sites numbers.

1) Anyone else have this?
2) and why can't I seem to search for this here?

You aren't the first person that has experienced this...a search of WebmasterWorld for "defined sites" and "site definition" turns up a few other threads:

[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]

Seems this is a very common problem.

Thanks for that Coopster. (I still am not too impressed with the forum search system...)

Then try this: Additional Search Tools for WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

Paul_B,

You might like this DW backup tool:

[mm-exporter.joexx.de...]

I've used it for a couple of years, it really saved me a lot of work several times. The freeware version is sweet.
