FrontPage's search is causing problems...

FP's search component - underlying hyperlink has :8000

I'm using FrontPage's search component on my web site. It works well and returns the correct pages etc. The only problem is that in the underlying hyperlink to the search result I have :8000 stuck after the .com

I've been told that this is a port number which is being hard coded in there but can't work out how to get this out. So the hyperlink looks something like:
http://www.example.com:8000/search/result.htm

Any ideas?
