Base URL Set Message: Foto Save Problem

While adding photos to my local website home page, up popped the message, BECAUSE THIS PAGE HAS A BASE URL SET, YOU WILL NEED TO SAVE ANY NEW OR ADDITIONAL PICTURES TO THE BASE WEB SITE AS A SEPARATE STEP. It took a while to figure out what this message meant, although the practical result of losing my photos and links from the published index page was immediately clear.

If you run into this: From your index page, right click and open Page Properties/General tab. Only the Location field should contain a URL. The Base Location field must be cleared: delete the URL that you see there.

You will probably have to reinsert your home page fotos and reestablish some links to other pages within you site. Be sure and try a save after reinserting the first foto.

I have no idea how I created an entry in the Base Location field. I'm new at all this. Hope this helps someone.
