The Nvu WYSIWYG has gone through several revisions since we first noticed it. The initial versions I first tried were still a little rough around the edges, but still showed some promise.

Is anyone working regularly with Nvu? Reading over the change logs it seems they have made quite a few improvements.

Not yet, but plan to be soon - still got a bit to much on my plate to switch at the moment.

I'm also planning to try it out sometime. I have it on my windows partion but I never go there except to debug for ie anyways, and for certain odd jobs. I'd like to have it on debian, they have a 'tarball built on Linspire (Debian k2.4) gcc/g++ 2.95.4', I'm on Debian sid but not much of a linux tinkerer so I'd really like it if they'd just make a normal .deb out of it so it will be part of the whole package that gets checked and updated with apt-get. For me it'd really be my first substantial wysiwyg experience.
