I am looking for a WYSIWYG editor that will not corrupt any standard compliant pages. One that will not insert any extra tags, or generally ruin the layout. I need one for my client. They want to be able to make little changes themselves. I don't need anything fancy, just something that can edit a few lines of text and insert an image.

Is there such thing or am I in a dream?

Well, Dreamweaver doesn't add tags unless you chose to create a new page, and it's very easy to use.
However, it might be a bit overkill for just changing text and adding an image or two.

There you have WYSIWYG editor as well.
All you have to do is set it up for them if nothing else.

The only problem i can think of is that DW sometimes moves around the code in an irritating way, but if no big changes occure then you should be alright.

There are no real solutions out there other than Macromedia Contribute, which goes well with sites built with Dreamweaver.

Usually the best solution in these kinds of cases is a CMS, not a locally-installed program.
