For some reason, all of a sudden, no matter what color the text in the HTML document is when it is viewed in a browser, when editing it in DW MX 2004, the text is black.

I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it, but to no avail.

Anyone know the setting that I need to change to get it back to normal? And if it is not a setting, what is the deal?

Two things, if you have a missing tag the text within will be coloured black in unicode. You can also change font and code colouring settings in the preferences menu.

Thanks, but, unfortunately, neither of those two options apply to my problem. It was working fine, and then one day, it just started to do this. I did not adjust any settings. And I have tried many different HTML pages, all of which do not have a missing tag, and the text in each one of them (in both the design mode and in the coding mode) is all black, even when the text is coded to be a certain color.

I don't expect the text in the coding to be the coded color at all. But the coding did used to have different colors to denote different types of coding. I just checked the code coloring preferences, and they are all set to be different colors, like they have always been. But they are not when you look at them in an HTML doc.

And when I F12 a page to view it in the browser, it views fine, with color text and everything.

I have been using DW for a few years, and have never dealt with this issue before.

don't know mate, sounds bizarre, maybe DW has got ants in its pants - certainly nothing i have ever confronted before.

1. so the code (markup-css-php) is all black in the code view?
(the text should be black in code view. - this is correct)

2. the text that has colour varient attributes via whatever code is black?

If the answer to the questions is yes, then you certainly have a problem, if you've checked that they have not be changed. I would backup and look at a re-install of DW!
