Editing a large amount of files at one shot on server

Help please

In dreamweaver we can edit template it will affect whole site,

but we have to upload all the files again.

is there any solution for this?, i want to edit whole site on the server not locally and i dont want to upload whole site again which contain more than 20,000 files.

I heard frontpage extention can solve this problem, is it?

if so please let me know which extention and how to do that. i need tutorial for that.

20,000 pages is not a lot of pages

If you want my honest opinion keep them on your hard drive and upload them each time you make any changes, Dreamweaver is very good for find and replace and this way you can see exactly what has been changed.

it can be done from the server but you do need to know what you are doing.

use server side includes SSI

That way you reference 1 file and any chnges to that file will be reflected accross the whole site.
