Hi all,

Once upon a time, I made the mistake of checking the "include dependant files" box when uploading to my server. I've done some searching on how to reverse this action and re-enable the checkbox, and turned up this: [archives.hwg.org ] and this [webmasterworld.com ], but unfortunately my copy of DWMX doesn't include any such options in Edit -> Preferences -> Site.

I decided to do some registry surfing, and came up with the DWMX preferences entries under (W2K Pro) HKCU -> Software -> Macromedia -> Dreamweaver 6 -> Site Preferences. The values for "Show Dependent Files..." can be either "TRUE" or "FALSE" depending on your personal preference. Make sure to shut down DW before changing these values, though, or they will "automagically" change back to their previous values.

I'd left this annoyance alone for awhile, but after reading the Server Side Scripting in CSS Files [webmasterworld.com] thread and following and reading the Tips for Building a Cache-Aware Site [web-caching.com] link, I renewed my quest to solve this annoyance once and for all.

Thanks for all the help, folks. Keep on postin'.

Werd.

Hayseed, welcome to webmasterworld!

Thanks for the heads up. DW can be hardwork sometimes!
