dreamweaver creates gaps between cells in a table

hello,

if i create a simple three row table in frontpage and put graphics in each cell, they are seamless.

actually, in the example, the middle cell has a tiny 1x1 spacer.gif.

the same table, when created in dreamweaver, has 2-3px gaps between the cells.

can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong in dreamweaver. is there a default setting in either that is producing the effect. i want the look produced in frontpage but i want to use dreamweaver.

Welcome [webmasterworld.com] to WebmasterWorld, tyler :).

A mod will snip your URLs eventually - no site reviews etc. allowed.

Your second example needs:

cellspacing="0"

to remove gaps between cells. WYSIWG editors are good but you still need to know some HTML to fix up these editor-based mistakes :).

i've read in other posts that people want to see code and examples of the problem. i wasn't trying to get a site review, i was just trying to show in better detail what i meant.

for clarification, is it better to include the code only or can i link to a specific pic of the problem as well?

with regards to dreamweaver, i'm hoping i can find a way to set the cellspacing=0 as the default for all new tables.

Site reviews are against the Terms of Service. URL drops are also a violation of the TOS. Please edit them out.

You must learn to use your skill of description.

i can't edit them out...there must be a time limit on editing. i sent a sticky mail to the moderator asking what i did wrond. he should edit it out shortly.

this is correct, though in terms of generalised meaning and not specific to your site and your site only. If you give the TOS a quick read, you will note no listings of specific key-terms or url's unless deemed news worthy or beneficial to the community of webmasterworld at large are allowed. Generally this equate's to no commercial url drops.

I'm glad that you have been assisted and hope to see you around. There is quite a strong presence of DW (dreamweaver) users here, so i feel confident that you will find help with the majority of problems.
