I have been experiencing something really strange:
- upon saving a page within FP02 there is some code added looking like this:

</c-2pacset.htm>
</c-rmartinset.htm>
</blinkset.htm>
</nsyncset.htm>
</hermanleonard.htm>
</britneyset.htm>
</bsbset.htm>
</dmbset.htm>
</c-nsyncset.htm>
</c-bsbset.htm>
</c-2pacset.htm>
</c-rmartinset.htm>
</blinkset.htm>
</nsyncset.htm>
</hermanleonard.htm>
</britneyset.htm>
</bsbset.htm>
</dmbset.htm>
</c-nsyncset.htm>

in fact some hundred lines of it.

FP locks then or slows down extremely, I can not do anything, the tags appear near the end, sometimes randomly in between regular code.

Has anyboday seen this yet? I can not work with my web anymore as it slows everything down very much and I don't want that code in my web either...

Many thanks!

Jens

very strange those tags seem to reference filenames all on one site (do a quick google search for rmartinset.htm for e.g.)

just an observation - sorry ive no idea why they would be there

Thanks, no, I tried the way you suggest with a couple of them, no result or at least no useable one.
Very strange, kills my productivity, need to build new pages for the ones where it appears.
Please, whomever has encountered similar stuff, any idea will help me.
I will ask MS too.
Thanks, Jens

welcome to webmasterworld adfree,

Is this a new page, or a page that you are updating?

The web and the page have been crafted some two years ago, when trying to update the strange stuff happens.

Update:
I found the owner of those pages who happens to be one of my affiliate merchants (but at a totally different page, strange again). I have contacted them in the hope to find out if they are using some kind of dynamic script that might distribute their own page links throughout third party webs (is that legal?).

Thanks for your help and warm welcome, Jens

If you used the import from web function to download your website, and were using some soft of affiliate program installed on your server to run your affiliate program, then the pages generated by your affiliate software would be dled by frontpage and added to the web on your harddrive.

I've had this problem when either I use frontpage to log into the webserver directly and it populates my bbs scripts onto my harddrive, or used the import from website and it dled dynamically generated pages from running another program directly from the server.

Thanks eWhisper, sounds scary though. I deleted all entries in the code that might be related and was successful, wondering though when anything similar falls back on me...

If you're not using a specific front page option like search or shared borders or something that requires frontpage to connect to the server, the easiest workaround is to get a straight ftp client, and then when you make changes, use this to upload your pages. This is the only workaround I've found for running non frontpage modules on a server and not have frontpage do some stupid things.
