Back in 1999 the site i helped run was made solely on Frontpage 97. It was an old bulky program that done the job. However in 2001 the lead webmaster decided to switch to DreamWeaver 4 from macromedia and for the past 4 years we've been using that since.

We tried DreamWeaver MX 2004 but quite frankly the program looked bulky with a mess of different windows and options we frankly didnt need.

Then i got my hands on the Microsoft office package from my work. I installed Frontpage and word and had a short look at how fraontpage had developed. Theres BIG difference. So, am i mad to drop Dreamweaver and go back to Frontpage again?

Not at all. Use whichever tool you prefer. There is no longer all that much difference in the output of either program. Just take the time to learn whichever tool you plan to use and they can be great time-savers for your site development.

I open files in both DW and FP.

I create pages with both DW and FP.

If the site is using FP extensions, I publish with FP.

If you have them both, no need to stop using either one. IMO, each program has it's strong points.
