I have a fairly large website,(about 150mb and somewhere around 3,000 pages) that I created using Frontpage 2000.It is now very slow to add to/edit and I would appreciate advice on what to do to speed things up a little. The website lists dog breeds aphabetically,(a page showing all the breeds starting with the letter A and with hyperlinks to another page for each individual breed ie.Affenpinscher,Afghan,Akita etc etc showing up to 100 thumbnail images with links then to full images on seperate pages).Would it be possible to turn each of the main alphabetical pages,(A,B,C etc) into subwebs and hyperlink them back to the main web,(does that make sense!) and would that then make working/adding to the subwebs a lot quicker?Any and all advice/help will be most appreciated.

It's time to give up Frontpage and step into the light. Your site sounds like a perfect fit for a database driven system, or perhaps just flat-files called into templates.

Does your site make any money? If so, I'm sure there are many people on here who could help you invest some of it in a more efficient system. If not, there's plenty of information on how to proceed. Try the database [webmasterworld.com] forum and the PHP [webmasterworld.com] forum.

You may be having the same problem I was. When you open a directory with FP it takes some time for all the files to list.

If this is your problem you can make it much better by just upgrading to FP2003. A fast computer also helps a lot.

If you're talking about slow loading pages it may be due to having so many images on a page.
