I would like to dump Frontpage 2002 and start using something better. FP is too bloated in many ways, Dreamweaver is overkill. Anything in the middle that you suggest? Thanks

Welcome to WebmasterWorld theMezz!
FP is too bloated in many ways.
In what ways. Here, come lie on the WYSIWYG couch and let's discuss this a little bit. Please, do list those things that you do not like about FrontPage.

My biggest complaints are that it doubles all my files. It makes two copies of all files that make up a web site. What a waste of space and upload time.
Secondly it takes a very long time to publish a site.

This is not normal for FrontPage. When does it make the double copies?

Not by default it doesn't. ;)

Those aren't doubles...those are stub files used for the FrontPage extensions on your server. They take up hardly any space and can be deleted if you're not running server extensions.

Yes, I've noticed that to.
I found it is much quicker to upload files using ftp. So I now use ws_ftp, which stops the double file thing too.
A word of warning using ftp can reck the FP server extensions/setup, as I don't use them it doesn't worry me.
