Am just about to purchase Dreamweaver MX 2004 after using Frontpage for a few years, can anyone provide any advice on the best book to get to provide a good guide to Dreamweaver without the book being too technical, was thinking it may be useful to have a CD with the book also - any views?

I have several Macromedia Press books on the subject and find them quite good.

I just bought a Fireworks MX book that was right at $50 in the store. I got it used through Amazon for less than $10. There was a black mark on the edge, but other than that it was new with the CD unopened. When I saw how nice it was I ordered a 2nd one. The lesson for me is shop around.

Strongly agree. Computer books bought through Amazon Used are really good deals most of the time and each time I've received them I couldn't tell them from new ones. Cheap and good, these usally don't work together; score one for Amazon.

dreamweaver training from the source is very good.
The book guides you step by step through the creation of a website.

I recommend the book Dreamweaver MX 2004: Visual QuickStart Guide

By: J. Tarin Towers

It's visual and not long blocks of text
