I used to have a bookmarklet in my browser to make searches using ATW from the browser URL bar. Today I noticed it didn't work anymore and realized the following change has been made:
the "&query=" parameter transmitted to the server is now "&q="
Since Altavista and Alltheweb are about to merge, I suspect this is a move to unify the querries between the 2 search engines (Altavista also uses the &q parameter for searches).
Interestingly enough yahoo remains with its own syntax.
On the website, ATW hasn't yet updated the pages about their search tools (http://www.alltheweb.com/help/tools/index).
Do you know anything about that move? Am I making any mistake here?
For the record, here is now the typical ATW search string I use in my browser(s):
