Hi,

I've just started using Lycos Insite Select and am a bit confused! Do I have to set up a new account for every different URL? Can I not just add new domains, like when using Postiontech's Inktomi program? I have 6 different sites for the same client and would like to have them all in the same account. Have checked their Help section which is not very extensive and also emailed their support desk, with no response as yet.

thanks for the help,

ck ;-)

You don't have to setup a new account for each domain.

There is a option called
"Change number of spidered pages"
under "View site details (InSite Central)"
that's where you select the number of pages/url's to be spidered.

And then you add the url under
"Edit existing page URLs"

Just to clear terminology:
Lycos InSite refers to urls as pages, not sites.
This has lead to many confusion already, though this probably more correct thanthe sloppy use of "url" for enoting sites.

Hi,

Thanks for those replies Heini and Lazerzubb. Saves a bit of effort not going and setting up separate accounts for each page!

I'm still trying to figure out the Lycos thing however! If I submit to Lycos UK, does that mean I will be in the FAST database? Or do I have to submit to Lycos.com in order to be listed in FAST?

I have emailed Support but again they are very slow, and my boss wants to get this sorted for a meeting he's having with our client on Tuesday!

So thank you for your replies, past and future ;-)

The Lycos InSite inclusion will get you in to the FAST database, which Lycos.co.uk and Lycos.com uses.
Once you have paid you should be in the FAST database.

To see which portals/Search engines that use the Fast database please view
