Ok, i got tired of waiting for Fast/Lycos to index my pages. I paid for the Lycos inclusion program for 27 Url's (over $300). This was supposed to get me into Lycos, Fast, Webcrawler, Excite, Hotbot and a couple others within 48 hours. After 1 day I was in Fast(alltheweb), Webcrawler and Excite. But, after 5 days now there are no Sign of any of the URL's in Lycos or Hotbot.

Anyone else have this problem? I emailed Lycos support, but they haven't answered me. Do I have to wait for Lycos to update ? Is the 48 hour promise not for real ? Anyone else have any Luck with Lycos PFI?

I would hate to initiate a chargeback on my credit card. But, that's a lot to pay to get into Lycos with no results.

>This was supposed to get me into Lycos, Fast, Webcrawler, Excite, Hotbot and a couple others within 48 hours...

I don't think it is going to get you into HotBot (yet) that still uses DH and Inktomi.

Lycos usually pulls directly from the FAST DB - so if you are in All The Web you should show up in Lycos at the same time. Certainly this happens to me (always within 48 hours) and I have put hundreds of URLs in PFI through Lycos over the past few months. So, to answer your question, you don't usually have to wait for Lycos to update - if you are in the DB at FAST - you should be in Lycos as soon as they start pulling that days DB. They may apply different filters to certain sites though - but normally the positions on FAST and Lycos.com are almost identical.

makemetop...

yeah, i wasn't really sure about hotbot. But, i'm definitely not in Lycos and I am in Fast. Has been this way for several days. Not a single one of the 27 Url's i submitted are in Lycos, but every single one is in Fast.

I submitted a single URL to Lycos several months ago with the same results. Lycos has a couple of my Url's that I didn't pay for, so I know it hasn't banned my site or anything. Some kind of filter is possible i guess.

It really doesn't matter that much to me either way. I just don't want to pay for it if I'm not going to get it.

Hi,
i've the same problem. I've paid Lycos insite select for 1 URL and after 9 days it's not present in fast or lycos. I'm really tired!
I've sent a feedback to LYcos consumer support two days ago but no response yet.
Crazy!!

We have a so-called "Bulk Submission" agreement with Lycos Europe and so far this has been working perfectly for all the URL`s that we have submitted. They are always indexed within 48 hours both in Alltheweb and Lycos. So we have nothing to complain about ... :)

Sorry to ask a FAQ, but

Does the Fast PFI include entry into EU and .com versions of their partner engines?

Is it filtered by country level domain?

Is a separate inclusion required for Lycos.com and Lycos.co.uk for example?

Thanks

Yes.

>Is it filtered by country level domain?

SERPs may be - depending on search portal. Inclusion is not.

>Is a separate inclusion required for Lycos.com and Lycos.co.uk for example?

No. You will appear in the main FAST DB. It is very similar to Inktomi - you get in the main DB and then partners pull the data and display it in their own way.

don't count on Lycos. I paid for the FAST PFI and got included in all FAST partner sites EXCEPT LYCOS. It's been 3 weeks, and still not in LYCOS.

What is really frustrating is LYCOS claims that I am included, but i'm not.

Can I submit multiple sites to the Lycos PFI within the same "account"?

The site submission page says :

- - - quote - - -

Advanced Submission
You may list as many pages for the spider you want, up to the total number of pages specified. We will discover any URLs not specified beginning with this URL list.

Rules of Advanced Submission Enter page URLs by hand OR copy and paste from a text file.
- Each URL should be on its own line (no commas).
- Each URL must start with http://

- - -

Nothing seems to indicate that multiple URL's submitted must be within the same site, but several messages in threads here seem to imply that this is true. What's the story???

the url's i submitted were from two different sites, and it worked fine for allthweb. However, to this date, I am still not in Lycos.

In their defense, they did contact me and are trying to figure out what the problem is. Hopefully i will be included in Lycos soon.

Lycos fixed the problem for me. They worked with me, listened to my complaining, and kept me updated with several emails. They really have Wonderful customer service.

Thanks Lycos !!

I signed up for Lycos Insite on 7/17 (eve) and my status still says site has not been spidered...

SEARCH SERVICES SUMMARY

Current Search Product.................. InSite Select
We are currently spidering............. 1 pages
Your site has a total of................. 0 pages
Date of last spidering................... pending

How long does the spidering take? Should I be worried?

Also, I submitted my site like this..

[sitename.com...]

should I have specified the index page outright instead?

1) is this normal (delay)

and

2) any better way to get a hold of Lycos for help?

Thanks
