A Keyword Question

I use XSitePro. It's a wonderful program but there are some compromises. One is that it uses a generic header that can contain a graphic and text but the text (and the graphic) is used on all the pages of your site.

As a workaround you can put a phrases or phrases in your Keywords meta tag and these phrases will be picked up as "tokens" and used an the headline(s) for that specific page.

Here's my question. Will using what is, in effect, my headlines as the keywords in my Keyword Meta Tag hurt my site with the search engines?

The keyword meta tag's effectiveness, even in MSN and Yahoo is so low, that it has nearly no effect on competitive phrases. You may have some misinformation, do some reading on here and you will be up to speed quickly.
