www vs non www

wanted to know if the redirection is allowed or not

www.domain-name and non www.domain-name sites are having different page ranks so my question is if we redirect a non www.domain-name to a www.domain-name then do SEs allowethis redirection?

Definitely. I find that it usually helps quite a bit so you don't have two unique documents with the same content fighting for the incoming homepage links.

You can set this up in an HT access file so every page on your site is autoredirected to the www or non www version - I highly recommend doing it.
