With the G doing a Foxtrot, one of my sites is sitting at #10, or #11, dpending on the datacenter, for a keyphrase I'm targetting.
Now, part of me wants everyt position higher I can get. But another part of me is worried that 11-15 (above the fold), is probably as beneficial, or better, for traffic as 6-10 (below the fold).
And I can't even measure the difference myself, because on half the datacenters, I'm at 11, the other half, I'm at 10. And I mean half. As of this afternoon, it's a dead even 50/50 split between datacenters. My stats and referal tracking is pretty good, but it can't tell the difference between data centers in the referalls.
Anyone want to get into yet another opinion flinger about this?
Interesting question:
In my opinion,to stay on first page even if in rank #8-10 is surely better that to stay on second page in rank #1-4.
This because people "scan" carefully ALL the first page results before to pass to the second one.
If your data are in alternation,I would advice you to improve your ranking so to be sure to stay on first page even if to the "lower end".this would bring you more traffic.
When I get 10 results, I carefully checked the first results, then go fast to the bottom of the page, may be pay more attention to the last two results of the page and promptly go to the next page
So in both case, it doesn't make any difference for me.
My two cents
