Where Is My Competition Listed?

Which web directories are they listed in?

I have a competitor web site that ranks #1 for my keyword. An SEO professional told me my competitor's site has been submitted to over 200 web directories. When I use the Google link tool, Google only returns 15 links to my competitors site and only 3 or 4 of them are web directories.

How can I find out all of the web directories that a web site is listed in?

Many people believe that Google's backlink reporting has been deliberately obfuscated in recent months. To get a more accurate report on backlinks, use the linkdomain: command on Yahoo. (eg. linkdomain:www.competitorsdomain.com). Don't know how you can then filter those results to only show directories though.

Some of the directories may use redirected links. Most of these redirected links will not show up as backlinks.

not that yahoo updates links that often - but they do tend to show a lot more backlinks then google. For the sites I watch - it tends to be around 5X higher in yahoo.
