Adwords influencing SERP rankings?

Allthough I higly doubted it before, it might have happened to me too...

I know it has been suggested and been speculated over before, I just wanted to try and see what you people think.

I have a page in a medium competitive market, which is doing fairly well, for a long time. I added in an extra page of content, which ranked very well after a few weeks. Then I started to do some adwords for this specific page, and almost immediately I lost my good rankings for this page only!

Is this too much of a coincidence? Or is there something else that caused this to happen...

I have not noticed this behavior. On the contrary if we make new landing pages for Adwords and link them in with the rest of the site they keep rising in the SERP's in the weeks that follow.
