Does it still matter to have a good Alexa rating. Should we still care?

I would only add to that response by saying "at least not right now." You never know what Amazon will do with Alexa. I can remember plenty of posts not too long ago from people declaring Inktomi dead or irrelevant. How times change. :)

Some people like to have visitors feel better by displaying BIG boxes of Alexa Ratings on their homepage. I think that helps them get more traffic or help them keep that traffic for a bit longer time.

Don't know other reasons why it matters. Also, if you are selling your website, some sales might be influenced with this.
