I have a problem. I've submitted my domain to search engines, but they've partly picked up the wrong URL. Some have picked up the address of the server on which my website is located, but not the correct domain-name that I own.
It's quite annoying, because my ranking is influenced by this also. Some engines do not rank my domain properly and instead prefer the URL of the server of my provider.
Is there any way I can make a change about that? I do not want the server-URL to be listed. I only want my domain to get listed.
Your help would be appreciated. I do not know why the search engines picked that server-address up anyway, I've never submitted it anywhere.
This problem pops up at regular intervals, and depending on your level of expertise, you might find the following threads useful, as they're where I've been (for what that's worth!) ;-)
[webmasterworld.com...] (most useful)
[webmasterworld.com...] (maybe useful - thanks to anallawalla for pointing me to it earlier.)
[webmasterworld.com...]
There are a few more about, but the first one should help the most.
Again, welcome, and don't be shy, lot's of Santa's elves lurking here abouts just waiting for problems to solve and speens to vent!
Cheers and Hooroo
