hi,
i just happened to read about themes that were posted here, and i hope i have understood it right.

when i was doing a search in hotbot after the results were displayed i noticed it displyed "people who serched for this keyowrd also searched for" and a list of keywords.

Now my question is - is this what you call as themes?

Here is a good article at Search Engine World [searchengineworld.com]

I don't believe that Hot Bot is a theme based search engine. I think that what they are offering is jsut related searches that have been collected.

Themes, in the simplest form, can be described as the overall topic of your website. A themed website should stay within this topic, which includes all content and keywords.

thanks for the help.

i work for a site which has more then 26 verticals, now does this fall under themes?

Can the site be themed for each vertical?

Check this thread out, chaash, it's addressing exactly what you're asking about.

Also, try site search (top left) for canonicals. There's a lot of material here on the subject.
