I am interested in aquiring a domain name that is highly listed in all major search engines and has a pr6. The only problem is that I am not aquiring it to keep the traffic, I am aquiring it to forward to another site that does not yet have page rank or organic listings. (I need the new better name for branding). What is the best way to forward the traffic and preserve as much of the PR and other listings?
Do I create a splash page telling everyone to click on the new url?
Do I do a 301 redirect?
Do I .htaccess all of the 404 traffic to catch all sub pages that were indexed? Will the search engines even read this?
Thanks for the insight.
