Using DART / ATLAS / etc for Keyword Tracking

Is this over-engineering the tracking?

Is there value in having a DART type tool to track keyword network (adwords, overture, etc) buys? I have an analytics application and usually just tag my keyword buys on the adwords/overture UI and track the campaigns in my tool.

I'm working with someone that redirects keyword buys through DART / ATLAS and am wondering what kind of 'gotchas' I might run into here?

Is this a better way to do it (versus just tagging the keywords on the search engine tool). If so, what advantages are there for sending my keyword ad buys through DART?
