Hey, i'm kinda new here and i've been trying to find all the informaton i can about sub domains. I'm planning to build a website with a community as a base and will be talking about some unrelated topics.

So my question is, if I use sub domains for unrelated topics and link to them from my main site will the sub domains and there pages be indexed(and quickly)? Or will the search engines index new pages from one big site faster?

Right now i'm leaning towards bigging one big site, that talks about some unrelated topics, in hopes that its pages will be better indexed then sub domains. Is this the wrong way of thinking? Is it better to build sub domains for unrealted topics or should i be scared of the search engines dropping sub domains or not indexing them and its pages as fast as one big site.
