Should I Feel Flattered?

We're a very, very small company so I was really surprised to see that some one was bidding on our company name at FindWhat. Searches using our company name are almost nil.

After we had a good laugh, I called FindWhat and they agreed to remove the listing.

Hmm, I dunno if I like the fact that they'd do that! Is it actually against the rules? After all, I could create a company called 'Web Hosting Inc' and ask them to remove all other entries under 'Web Hosting'.. not very fair!

Hi Peter, welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Their ad said they sell our widgets.

"Buy Coconutz Golden Widgets at Peter Cooper Industries."

Thanks for the welcome ;-)

Were they lying? Or do they really sell your products? If they do, surely that's a good thing? Or are they just trying to rip off your brand name to entice people in?

Just wondering. For example, a hi-fi store may have an ad under keyword 'Sony'.. and Sony wouldn't be upset since the store sells their gear.

They don't sell our products. I guess they were just looking for more traffic.
