Overture Local Search

Overture seems to think about a "Local Search" Option

From a recent Overture survey:

"Overture is considering a local search advertising product. In this product, searchers would see paid listings for local businesses (tailored to the location of the searcher and the local business) in addition to the current national paid listings. This would allow you to add listings for any or all of your business' individual store locations and allow nearby searchers to view paid listings directing them to your stores."

Any thoughts on this? Good idea?

Oh, they seem to think about quite a few new things... From the same Overture survey.

"How interested would you be if Overture could help provide you with an e-mail product to market to your current customers?".

And as if there weren´t enough spam mails out there.. ;)

"How interested would you be if Overture could help provide an e-mail service to acquire potential new customers?"

Hi sudden,

Yes, I think it is a very good idea. Google does it. I could use it for better targeted marketing too. If they could also apply a regional restrictions to theyre suggestion tool, one could better craft a campaign, with cultural differences in mind.

I wonder how they could technically apply such regional restrictions throught theyre partners. I wonder how is Google doing it.
