Bids are now going up, but they never come down

Side effect of the new Autobid feature

Maybe my competitors are stupid, however I have noticed some major changes after the autobid
became available.

My competitors takes no time in leapfrogging my bids to stay in the top 3.

However when I say enough is enough and drop to position 4, they don't lower their bids (And
im talking big gaps (ie #4 - 18 cents, #3 - 42 cents).

If position #3 is using autobid, their price drops to 1 cent more than mine so they have
no incentive. This forces position 1 and 2 to be stuck at their relative position.

Before, the autobid, the constant raising and dropping of bids was creating a sort of top 3
timeshare. And if the competion was not using third party bidding software, I would get a
bigger portion of the timeshare.

I guess my only option is to use autobid in position #4 and stay 1 cent below #3 maximun bid,
until they either learn about ROI or go out of business.

This autobidding sucks.

Hey, check out Searchboss.com, the keyword bidding is cheap and the traffic is qualified. Yet, there are so many engines out there, why not just choose you favorite and stick with it. Yet, if you are attempting to lower the cost per click of traffic to achieve the #1 spot, then i guarantee Overture.com is not the answer.

John:

Other than the "directory" the site just doesn't seem to work. Where do the directory sites come from? And can you tell us why they are better than the 341 tother PPCs?

what do you mean "nothing works other than the directory"? It's results are relevant, it looks professional, the price of bidding is low, and the traffic is qualified. What else can an advertiser or surfer want?? O.k. maybe i would like it if they were giving away cash like i-won did, but then again how far did that get them???

hmmm...
I am on a PC, but here are the results for the different keywords.
baby clothes:
[search.searchboss.com...]
search engines:
[search.searchboss.com...]
jobs:
[search.searchboss.com...]
online casino:
[search.searchboss.com...]

I don't know, maybe it is your system, or maybe their were no results. But i just entered them into the search function, and this is what returned. Who knows, the internet always has been "sketchy."

John
there is a major coding problem with SB, javascript and more, in NS the results overwrite each other in the top inch of the page.

Searchboss is Rawhide Internet Services out of Toledo, Ohio that owns thousands of domain names pointing traffic to their own mall sites.

lgn:

We got side-tracked on the "SearchBoss" commentary, but when you said the Autobidding sucks, you didn't realize a major plus that you have built in for yourself, concerning the example you gave.

By bidding up $.01 under the #3 spot, you have created a cushion between you and #5. Previously in the "Flat Bid" environment, you would have dropped to $.01 above #5, to minimize the bid gap. But now, #5 has to think a little harder about outbidding you, because now #5 has to bid from $.17 to $.42 to outbid you! :)

Try $2.66 #1, 0.99 #2 & 0.40 #3 for a droning piece of hollow wood. Madness ! & been that way all last week.
