Will Google offer advertisers the ability to target only AOL?

If, so how would Overture respond?

While I haven't seen any official word on whether Google will enable an AdWords campaign to appear only on AOL it would be a nice feature.

Should Google opt to provide this kind of targeting, would it draw Goverture into the ring and give them incentive to select the search partners on whiwh an advertiser's listing would appear?

Should they both go down this road, it could enable marketers to make much more effective use of PPC budgets if say, MSN tends to convert at a much higher rate than YAHOO! for a specific offering or category of offerings.

One thing I've noticed is google seems to fill the void where competitors have missed out on prior. If enough people wanted that ability i am sure it could be implimented. I myself would love to be able to target AOL specificly for some adgroups because their audiences is a bit different from Google's audience thus I could word it specificly for AOL users.

yes, that would be WONDERFUL.

But, I doubt it will happen.

We can always hope.

The current "all or nothing" scheme with overlook is fairly draconian..I would expect a far sighted competitor to step in and do it correctly .

With only a few big players, I'm not sure anyone except Google or Overture has the traffic to warrant such an approach.

Though I agree that it would be great to target those search engine/partners which have a higher percentage of my target customers using them.

I hope they do it.

I don't think they will do it.
