Overture hosted a free luncheon and round table discussion in Boston today for advertisers.

It was a good event - I liked the folks who came, and most of all I liked the fact that they really wanted to listen. Someone or other in the audience brought up just about every issue we've ever raised on this board.

They also gave us some hopeful news - next week they will lower the cut-off for search volume on words. So if you've recently been denied bids on a given word because the "search volume is too low" give it another try next week.

That's good news on the lower cutoff. I've had several kw's I'd like to play but not enough traffic.

Do we know what the current cut-off is?

I asked -- and they weren't in a sharing mood on how the cutoff is set. Maybe it's a top secret algo that weights their various partners ;)

Well, as a benchmark we were told that is WAS 25.
So you would have to assume that they have pick a number that is less than 25.

... I was also interested in their very brief mention of the development of in house bidding tools. I thought it was a well done meeting, but most info was basic to us "experts". I particularly liked having OV reps at each table for "sidebar" discussions and questions. This was very valuable to me. (I was lucky enough to be seated with the chief editor.)
Sorry, I did not meet others from this forum while there.

Yeah. I asked to have Webmaster World on my name tag, but they weren't having any of that. Guess they wanted account names the reps would recognize for internal purposes.
