Hi all,

I run a non-commercial site (hobby/interest) so I´ve veared clear of anything that includes the word "pay" in it :) ( I even give freely what most other sites demand payment for. One of those spoilsports)

I was under the impression that Overture was a PPC only search engine. But then just now I was skimming through my referer log and saw entries from overture.com.
And through the exact 3 keywords (phrase) that I have been aiming at. I checked it out. Lots of entries, over 500 results and most of them from semi commercial sites (pay for service).

I ranked nr 6. and was the only one with the exact keyword phrase header. So obvious click candidate.
Now, Im not complaining. 8) But how exactly does Overture work. After doing the Site Search here I could only find references to KW buy discussions.

It is nice though. (its not a common KW, certainly not in the mainstream battle, so my logical guess is that if their funded KW do not match they go search some SE for info)

Olaf, after the paid results the rest are Inktomi.

They use backup results from inktomi (or possibly someone else now, haven't paid that close of attention). Whoever they are currently using for backup results appears after the last paid entry and you are ranked high on the backup engine.
