Anybody else here if this is happening? And why would anybody want to do it? And AOL would royally mess with the demographics...doesn't make sense, but that's what I heard.
Can anybody give me some confirmation of this?
Cheers,
Han Solo
Feel free to sticky mail if you dont' want to post. ;)
The AOL users are not overly technical users, and because of this they seem to purchase online less than others that use mainsteam browsers.
I wish GoTo would add a box that would allow you to disallow the addition of you term to certain search engines.
A box next to the term saying DO NOT SHOW IN AOL would work well for me.
GoTo can learn a valuable lesson from print advertising. Working with an advertising agency you select a group of magazines/newspapers in which your advertising will appear.
You don't go to an advertising agency that automatically places your ad in the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, People, and Popular Mechanics.
GoTo needs to learn or adopt the dynamics of advertising before the completion does.

Ooh! That's a nice idea! Wonder if anyone at GoTo is reading this forum?
Then again, they'd probably say something about 'administrative costs', and make non-targeted bids subject to the new $.05 minimum, while targeted bids were subject to a $.25 minimum...
GoTo could take a larger cut and still offer an improved return to their "Family".
I am sure they can figure out the simplicity of this and implement it without cutting off the hand that feeds them.
