Hello members,

I recently started advertising one of my services on Overture Japan.
The features are same as English version.

Here are my questions.
1) If I have blocked IP addresses of bad users within my server, and if the bad users click on my Overture Ad listed on Yahoo Japan Search and try to visit my site (they will not get access to my site anyway), will I be charged for the clicks?

2) I’ve been monitoring the visitors from Overture. More than 80% of the users just visit the front page and they are not even bothered to visit other pages to know about the services offered by us. The funny part is; they have come to the Right Place for the Right Search Keyword and further we offer the lowest price in the market. Then why not read more about us and know more about our services? I don’t believe over 80% of users have a habit like this.

Who are these people?
Are they competitors who are advertising the same service and trying to use my daily budget? If so, what is the solution for this?

Please help me out. Thanks.

Welcome to click fraud. Almost all of them are crooks who are stealing your money. They have no interest in your products, only in parting you from your money. Do a search on "click fraud" and read until you get tired.

Yes, you will be charged. Blocking IP addresses on your server has nothing to do with overture. Overture sent a visitor, so you have to pay.

Are you making it clear that you have the lowest price in the market on the page they first see? Does the page look professional and trustworthy? Can they see how they can easily order from that front page? Is there a buy now button on the landing page?

Vincevincevince,

Thank you so much for the answers.

My site looks great, even better than big competitors who advertise on Overture.
I’ve been online for many years but this is the first time to advertise on Overture.
Sadly, my daily advertising budget is smaller than big competitors.
So I don’t have money to waist on invalid clicks.

*Are you making it clear that you have the lowest price in the market on the page they first see?
Yes

*Does the page look professional and trustworthy?
Yes, all types of contact details are listed.

*Can they see how they can easily order from that front page? Is there a buy now button on the landing page?
No
Rough prices are listed; however our services are order made for each client.
Hence we need to send quotations when a client makes an inquiry and payment instructions to pay online or offline.

You've come into YSM at a bad time. Yahoo is not being selective about search partners and they are simply delivering garbage clicks at this point. There STILL is convertable traffic, but it's much harder to achieve with Yahoo simply not being interested in improving their partner quality. I suggest you start pouring over referrer logs to see where the crap is coming from and shut off the pipes. And probably launch Google AdWords campaigns. Odd are, your traffic quality will improve.
