Where are editorial reviewers based?

Hi,

I'm in the UK and am frequently amazed by the apparent incompetence of some of the editors but I’m wondering if it is just a language problem.

Are the editors based in the US?

If this is the case it would explain a lot.

My web site was badly hit when Google started using semantics as part of their algorithm. After weeks of discussion and research I finally identified the problem. The generic word for the main topic of my site in the UK is the brand name for a different type of product in the US.

I’ve had ads turned down for insufficient content on the landing page and site, presumably, on the topic of the search term requested. There is without doubt enough content on the target topic on the landing page so I can only assume that the editor is using their own regional parochial prejudice in making the decision. This is further confirmed by some of the ads that appear for certain search terms. Listings which at first appear totally inappropriate suddenly start to make sense if you consider the US meanings of the search terms used.

This situation has become much worse since Overture became Yahoo. I wonder if they have c hanged their editorial set up.

Am I the only Brit who has noticed this?

Best wishes

Sid

the yahoo editors are based in ireland. theres not much you can do about their incompetence. i come in here sometimes and have a rant, it doesnt help but its enjoyable.

one little tiny thing that may help is to put your keywords in the right order when you submit your ad. i use the 'Good Keywords' program to find lots of keyword variations, and it sometimes puts the keyword in the wrong order.

heres an example, same keywords, different meaning:

new property for loan
loan for new property

putting them in the right order helps a little....but not much!

the editors keep rejecting my keywords and I have no idea why.
The reason for rejection is empty.
I sent them an email but it takes them ages to reply.
Is it the same editorial team for Overture Germany and Overture UK?
